The University of Manchester Innovation Factory (“UoMIF”) is the University of Manchester’s subsidiary responsible for identifying and leading the commercialisation of its innovations and intellectual property.

We are searching for a Legal Counsel who would be responsible for the provision of legal services, providing advice to the wider team with the support of the Legal Services Manager.
The successful candidate will assist with the drafting, reviewing and negotiation of legal terms relating to agreements, facilitating the commercialisation of IP from within the University.
They will also provide sound legal advice in a range of disciplines, applying the necessary judgment to all legal input.
Reporting to the Legal Services Manager, the Legal Counsel will ensure all tasks aligned to the Paralegal are completed to an efficient and high standard. Additionally, they will assist in due diligence process, and also proactively manage key internal/external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with commercial experience, and possess excellent negotiation skills, notably I relation to commercial contracts.
