After launching in 2020, the ERDF Research & Innovation (R&I) Health Accelerator programme is coming to a close, having supported over 60 companies, creating 35 research collaborations and delivering more than 25 events across the city-region and beyond.
The R&I Health Accelerator is an ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) part-funded project delivered by Health Innovation Manchester, The University of Manchester, The University of Manchester Innovation Factory, Manchester City Council and Bionow.
As part of the support through the Accelerator, SMEs were able to access expertise and advice including information about navigating the health and care system, developing value propositions, ethics & regulatory advice, and access to university-wide expertise.
Throughout the delivery of this programme, there was opportunity for SMEs to build lasting research collaborations with researchers, Greater Manchester universities, NHS organisations and the broader health innovation community. These collaborations will continue to share knowledge, address the barriers to adoption and co-develop proposals for research and development projects.
